New Ranks Achieved
The atmosphere in the hall was electric this week as our students stepped onto the mats for their latest grading examination.
Grading is always a test of character as much as skill. It requires focus, discipline, and the ability to perform under pressure. We are incredibly proud to say that our students rose to the challenge, showcasing the hard work they have put in over the last few months.
A special congratulations goes to our two successful candidates who have reached new milestones in their martial arts journey:
- Kara has successfully graded to Yellow Belt (8th Grade). Having progressed from White Belt to Yellow Stripe, and now to full Yellow, this is a fantastic achievement and marks a major step away from the beginner ranks.
- David has earned his Blue Stripe. This advanced grade requires a higher level of precision and dedication. Well done, David!

A Tough Test
It wasn’t an easy session! The grading panel put the students through their paces with a comprehensive syllabus that included:
- Forms (Thaus): demonstrating memory and traditional techniques.
- Sparring (Tooi Ta): showing control, timing, and defensive reflexes.
- Impact Testing: proving the power and effectiveness of their strikes on pads.
Instructor Ms. Wise is very proud of the standard shown. Every grading is a step forward, not just in belt colour, but in confidence and ability.
